Recently, HTC has released the smaller sibling of the One M8 smartphone. Here are my thoughts about it without using the device:
1. Design
As with the new HTC smartphones, the One Mini 2 opts for an aluminum unibody constuction with the stereo BoomSound speakers on the front and a 13MP camera on the back. This looks amazing, but like the M8, there is a little chin on the bottom with the HTC logo. This looks unneeded and just adds extra height.
2. Performance and Specs
The HTC One Mini 2 has similar specs to phones like the LG G2 Mini and Moto G, which both are available cheaper. There is a 1.2ghz quad-core processor, 1GB's of RAM, and the Adreno 305 GPU all on a Snapdragon 400 chipset. The screen is sized at 4.5 inches with a resolution of 720p, and the device has a 2,100mah battery which should have no problem surviving a day of medium to heavy usage. There is a 13MP camera on the back and a 5MP front facing camera. On board is the newest Android 4.4 KitKat with HTC's Sense 6.0, and there is 16GB's of memory with MicroSD expansion for up to a whopping 128GB's of storage.
Here in the specs there is a very big problem: the chipset. For the sub-400 euro budget you can get the LG G2 and soon the OnePlus One, both with much better specs. I wanted this phone to have at least a Snapdragon 600, but it seemed to be too much for HTC.
Also, where the original One Mini had the terrible 4MP "Ultrapixel" camera, HTC seemed to only now learn their lesson because they included a 13MP shooter. This seems to be taking a lot better shots than the original, so kudos to HTC.

3. Value
For 400 euros, you can buy one of these phones:
- iPhone 5C 8GB
- iPhone 4S
- LG G2
- LG Nexus 5
- Xperia Z1 Compact
- HTC One M7

Also, by Friday, there should be a video review of "Headlights" by Eminem, so for now you can read the review. Also, I didn't write for a couple of days because I was heavily studying for an important math test.
